Bear wonders where the bunnies are: Do You Like Horny Bunnies?

This post IS in fact SFW! Enjoy!

If there’s one kind of game that stays true to what it’s about, it’s H-Games. However, in recent events I’ve found myself completely mistaken with the H-Games I’ve acquired. Today I would like to point you to one of the more well known H-Games and the deceptive piece of pornogrophy it is. But I guess you should probably learn what an H-Game is first. Essentially, it is a Japanese anime porn game. That’s right. They are eerily plentiful in Japan, it seems. They usually take … Continue Reading

Bear traverses Limbo: Limbo Review

During the summer, it’s not uncommon to come across only one game a month and find yourself enjoying it solely for the fact of it being a new game. On rare occasions will the summer produce a title that you feel was genuinely good and amusing. This month, we had a few games such as BlazBlue Continuum Shift and Dragon Quest IX. But today, I would like to bring to your attention a game that probably went overlooked by many people, but deserves some your undivided attention for a few hours. … Continue Reading

Bear Burns his Bread: Persona 3 Portable Review

P3P can be interpreted in two different ways. Persona 3 Portable, as in a portable version of the PS2 game that started a revive in the Persona series, or Persona 3 Perfect, as in a perfected version of Persona 3. P3P is the most complete and fulfilling version of Persona 3 that has been released. While it loses a bit of its luster by being put onto the PSP, it retains the feeling P3 originally brought, but in a fresh new chocolate coating. Milk chocolate, because P3P doesn’t feel nearly as … Continue Reading

Review: DeathSpank (PS3, 360)

(Note: this is a review of the PS3 version)

You might have heard of a game called Maniac Mansion.  Maybe you’ve even played it.  For me, it’s a significant milestone in gaming because it’s one of the first “humorous” video games that actually succeeded in being funny AND a decent game.  One of it’s co-designers, Ron Gilbert, is the mind behind this latest attempt at videogame humor, DeathSpank.  He certainly has the pedigree to pull it off again, but the … Continue Reading

Review: Magic the Gathering: Duels of the Planeswalkers (PC)

(Note: this is a review of the PC port of a game orginally released on the Xbox Live network in 2009.)

Magic: the Historing

“What is Magic and what is it Gathering?” you may be asking yourself.  Knowing about the card game Magic is one of those many nerd litmus tests.  Strike that, “game enthusiast” litmus test.  It’s a collectible card game designed in the 90’s by math professor and game designer Richard Garfield that struck a cord with nerds everywhere … Continue Reading

Review: Perplexing PC Platformers

Ever notice how a very large percentage of indie PC games tend to be 2-D platformers? And that a lot of those platformers happen to be non-linear or Metroidvania-ish in nature? This article will be covering a selection of the weirder platformers available on the PC, non-linear or otherwise.

Dondon (this might not be the game’s actual name) is a platformer with a window size that tends to be more than fullscreen, unless you happen to have an insanely high-res monitor. It’s short and there’s no way to die, but there are no save points. You play as a treasure hunter … Continue Reading

Bear says “Say Peace!”: Peace Walker Review

Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker is so good, I want to have sex with it. Let me be blunt: it is simply the BEST in the Metal Gear franchise. It has just the right amount of story, the best gameplay the series has ever seen, enough extras the make you want to play the game another twenty hours just to see if you missed anything, and the return of the most badass characters in video gaming history. Normally I save this stuff for the end of my … Continue Reading

Semi-budget Recommendation – Yakuza 3 (PS3)

I’m hard pushed to call this a review, since the game came out quite a while ago and after completing it only yesterday, I’m in no emotional state to be objective about it anyway. So, with quite a sizeable period of time passing between release and present day, it’s safe to assume that Yakuza 3 is now at a much more affordable price point than it once was. A quick … Continue Reading

Surgery with my BEAR hands!: Trauma Team Review

Trauma Team is the newest title in the Trauma Center series. What started as a game utilizing the DS’s touch screen feature, the series has expanded its home onto Nintendo’s Wii. If you can’t tell by the name, the game pits you in the shoes of a doctor where you perform doctorly things. In the past, you just performed surgeries as the fabulous Doctor Derek Stiles. Well, this time around, Stiles steps out of the spotlight and gives it to five newcomers and a sixth returning character. … Continue Reading

Review: 3D Dot Game Heroes (PS3)

Once, there was a great evil in the 8 bit kingdom of Dotnia.  A hero arose, as they often do, and after an epic quest banished it to wherever it is evil goes after it has been smote.  And things were good, for a little while.  But as time moved on, people lost interest in the 8 bit world, and Dotnia was all but forgotten, its tourist attractions falling into disrepair.  So the King declared, let there be 3 Dimensions!!!

This is more or less the … Continue Reading
